“The Coney” is one part charity fundraiser, one part live celebrity variety show, one part homecoming, and this brand new event brought many of Michigan’s biggest stars from the worlds of film, TV, comedy and music back to Detroit for a whirlwind weekend of entertainment, camaraderie, and hometown pride. All of it was for a good cause to help raise funds for Detroit youth art programs in partnership with the Children’s Foundation of Michigan and Detroit Creativity Project.

The main event featured a who’s who of Detroit starpower including Tim Meadows, Marc Evan Jackson, Sam Richardson, Dave Coulier, Kristen Bell, Dax Shepard and J.K. Simmons, just to name a few. They took part in a sold out show at the Detroit Opera House for a two hour live show with stand-up comedy, improv, scripted skits, music performances and a live auction, the results of which totaled up to over $2.72 million raised, and a slew of new celebs already committed to next year’s event!

D/CAL’s many talents were tapped to help get the inaugural event off the ground including establishing the event branding and developing all the essential sales tools and content needs to pull off an event of this scale such as website design, social content creation, merch design, in-show graphics and video production, and providing overall marketing support. Planning for next year’s show is already in progress as “The Coney” has earned a spot on the annual calendar for can’t-miss Detroit events.
